Having said that, the Realtek 889A chipset on my particular Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R playing through my Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 speakers is pretty gosh darn awesome so I give a 5-star rating. You may have the bad luck to get either a chipset or a motherboard that is borderline when it comes to quality control. The third and final factor is variances in production.
